Membership Application for the American Society for Virology

Application Requirements

Please be prepared to upload your curriculum vitae or an NIH biosketch. Applications for Associate or Student membership will also require a letter or the provided form verifying your position in the laboratory as research staff, postdoctoral trainee or student. At the final step of the application, you will also need to use a credit card to pay membership dues. (If you want to pay by another method, contact ASV). Your application will be submitted to the Chairman of the Membership Review Committee. You will be notified via email and postal letter once accepted.

Eligibility

Membership is open to qualified individuals who are actively involved in virology research, teaching, or administration. To be qualified for Full membership, an individual should be at least three years past his/her professional degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., M.S. or equivalent experience). Associate membership is awarded to postdoctoral associates or research staff actively engaged in virology research and/or teaching. Student membership is awarded to graduate or undergraduate students with an active interest in virology research and/or teaching. All of these types of memberships receive discounted registration at the ASV Annual Meeting.

Both Associate and Student memberships require this verification letter (click to download) be signed to verify postion and position status in the laboratory.

Student membership is for full-time graduate or undergraduate students interested in virology.
